Internship in Human Rights & International Organizations
Graduate and Master’s Students
Applications are now being accepted for internship in the fields of human rights, Organizational Leadership, and Communications and Media Studies at The International Organization for the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (EAFORD), or with one of its affiliates in Geneva. Through this internship students will have the chance to improve their knowledge and understanding of the work and activities of the United Nations human rights mechanisms. They will have opportunities to engage in meetings, conferences and side events in which they may deliver statements, present papers or summarize activities.

General Conditions
Applicants with Background Study and a Bachelor’s Degree in: Law, International Relations, Economics, Political Science, Public Administration, Organizational Leadership.
Language: English + (Arabic, French or Spanish)
Human Rights
The successful candidate will assist EAFORD’s work with other organizations. Tasks and responsibilities include:
Work on various human rights issues, including country situations.
Conduct research, writing short papers.
Writing complaint letters and appeals to the OHCHR.
Assist in budget planning and fundraising.
Conduct/assist in organizing conferences or workshops focusing on human rights issues.
Build stakeholders capacity.
Other duties as assigned.
Abilities
Good ability in writing and summarizing reports and papers.
Team player with ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
Demonstrated knowledge of the United Nations Human Rights System.
Proven knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Knowledge of Web Content Management, Web Design and Graphic Design would be an asset.
Communications and Media
The duties and responsibilities include:
Monitor media coverage of issues assigned by the organization.
Develop key messages for media interviews and for the organization press releases.
Research and analyze media coverage of news outlets in preparation for editorial board meetings.
Assist with the writing of communications material such as letters, news releases, backgrounders, weekly bulletins.
Research topics for opinion editorials.
Help produce presentations for conferences and workshop sessions.
Other duties as assigned.
