As it has done over the past four decades, EAFORD continues to engage in a number of activities and projects, often in cooperation with the United Nations or other non-governmental organizations concerned with human rights and the elimination of racial discrimination. These include:

  • Convening seminars and conferences under joint auspices with universities and other non-governmental organizations on racism and racial discrimination in general, and on apartheid, Zionism and the rights and conditions of indigenous peoples;

  • Participating in conferences and seminars organized by the U.N. or its agencies, including sessions of the Human Rights Council (HRC);

  • Publishing and distributing books and analytical papers on specific questions of racism and racial discrimination;

  • Publishing biannual journal Without Prejudice;

  • Granting occasional Fellowship Awards to graduate students preparing doctoral dissertations on aspects of racism and racial discrimination;

  • Presenting an annual International Award for the promotion of Human Understanding, in recognition of an outstanding published work in English, French, Arabic, Spanish, or Portuguese, which deals with questions of racism and racial discrimination;

  • Supporting and cooperating with the efforts of non-governmental organizations engaged in combating racism and racial discrimination;

  • Providing information to U.N. bodies dealing with specific questions of racism and racial discrimination;

  • Disseminating information on the question of racism and racial discrimination which is produced by other specialized non-governmental organizations and U.N. bodies; and,

  • In its efforts to establish research facilities for scholars and the general public, providing reliable and authoritative information and source material on cases of racial discrimination and racism as it is so recognized by the international community. In an effort to advance its work in informing about, and struggling against racism, EAFORD regularly surveys current research and publications, which the Organization can review and promote through its biannual Without Prejudice and other publications, through individual inquiries, and by way of public and organizational channels.
